chrispacks Alpha Fleece

Polartec Alpha, the fabric that makes UL fans' hearts beat faster! We are also fans and have been using Alpha pieces for some time on thru-hikes and bikepacking trips.

Why Alpha?

Currently, there is no other fleece material on the market that perfectly combines these material properties, which are so important for ultralight hikers.

Besides the very light weight and the very small pack size, the temperature-regulating properties are actually the most important. Thanks to the open structure of Alpha Direct, you don't overheat during strenuous activity. When it gets cold, Alpha insulates very well through its "air chambers" and is incredibly warm. So it's the "do-it-all" of fleece pullovers ;-).

The Idea:

After working with Ramona from Rambodale for a long time, the idea arose last autumn to create our own small Alpha collection. We wanted to be a bit different from existing products:

The Cut:

• unisex, and a bit looser with a slight retro touch
• without a hood. There are enough hoodies already, and many of our customers didn't want a hood. And, since you always carry a hat anyway and most other jackets also have a hood, we thought we'd save ourselves the trouble.
• Instead, there are Pertex inserts. This protects the Alpha material when carrying a backpack and is windproof (also at the neck).
• The raglan cut ensures maximum freedom of movement and increases durability.
  

The Features:

• we deliberately omitted pockets.
• The zipper allows for good ventilation.
• there are thumb loops on the sleeves
• The pullover weighs 150g in size M

We tested the pieces all winter, especially while ski touring - simply top-notch!

All pieces are made by Ramona in Kempten. So it's a product from regional production, crafted with attention to detail and the highest level of craftsmanship.

The first batch was sold out immediately, Ramona has restocked some. Then probably not again until the long-distance hiking days in September.
