Where can I get lightweight gear for challenging adventures? I asked myself this question in 2016 when we were preparing for our PCT trip. What do you really need? At Chrispacks, you get handpicked gear from brands that are not always easy to find here. With my many years of experience in the outdoor sector, I want to be your go-to place in southern Germany for ultralight gear. In addition to the online shop, you are also welcome to visit. The best way to do this is to make an appointment with me to set up your desired tent, adjust your backpack, or simply get some useful tips. With our location in the heart of the Bavarian foothills of the Alps, we have our "testing ground" right on our doorstep! Most of the items in our range have been tested by us or are in our own use, so honest advice is guaranteed...

Whether by kayak, on foot, or on skis, I have been passionately exploring the outdoors for many years. Be it the USA, Nepal, South America, Mexico, New Zealand, and of course many trips to all corners of Europe, and a lot of experience in the outdoor industry.

At some point, I got my hands on a book by Ray Jardine, the "Godfather of Ultralight". That probably laid the foundation for the coming years. In 2014, I was so hooked that I started sewing my own gear. Especially my climbing and ski backpacks are quite popular ;-). In 2017, we took our trip on the PCT. After seeing many hikers there who were traveling with completely oversized equipment, and also because we had difficulties getting suitable equipment, this led to the founding of chrispacks.com in 2019.

From the beginning, it was clear: With me, you get excellent ultralight gear from great brands that are often hard to find here. We test almost all products ourselves before adding items to our range. At Chrispacks, you'll find almost everything to effectively reduce your backpack weight. You can equip yourself from head to toe with me; clearly, I can't offer everything, but with my pre-selection, I hope to make many decisions "lighter" for you.

Furthermore, you'll find everything related to trail running, climbing gear, and in winter, ski touring accessories, snowshoes, and winter hiking equipment.

As a classic "one-man show," I can provide you with competent advice on all topics related to your equipment.

All in-stock items from the online shop can also be admired live on site. In our store in Lenggries, you can touch, try on, or simply chat about all the items from the online shop. Whether it's trying on shoes, testing a backpack, or setting up a tent. We're happy to advise you!

Opening hours: We are usually open on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday afternoons from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Thursday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Friday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Other appointments gladly by arrangement!
