UL Rucksäcke aus Ecopac Ultra
The US manufacturer Challenge Sailcloth is causing a stir in the ultralight sector with its new sustainable Ecopac product line! Currently, no other backpack laminate offers the same performance while being produced as sustainably as possible.
Not only are the impressive properties of the new laminate noteworthy, but most importantly: Ecopac is made from 100% recycled polyester. This significantly reduces CO2 consumption (50% less than new nylon).
The outer fabric consists of sustainable REPREVE® yarns collected from the ocean, and all other components are made from used PET bottles.
No toxic adhesives are used in the lamination; the adhesives are solvent-free. The outer impregnation is PFC-free.
Thanks to an innovative production process, energy-intensive drying processes during lamination are reduced. The material lies flat when cut, resulting in less waste than with nylon materials.
The material is 100% recyclable.
Bluesign certification is expected soon.
Ecopac Ultra is the highlight of the Ecopac series: ultralight, waterproof, and super stable. And absolutely sustainable. The most common strengths are Ultra 200 (comparable to X-Pac) and Ultra 400 (comparable to Dyneema). The light interior makes it easy to find items in the backpack.
The first ULA Packs made from the new material have just arrived. With the YPG Packs, we are also introducing a new UL backpack brand, made in Germany!
Prices are expected to be between 400 and 500 Euros.
