Use your bike to transport skis!
The SKI RACK / 03 opens up new possibilities for ski tourers (and splitboard users). Whether it's traveling to your ski tour environment-friendly by bike, taking a shortcut on a tedious forest road, cycling into a secluded valley, or reaching the snow line on roads that may still be closed – the range of action is significantly expanded thanks to the combination of skis and bike, enabling impressive nature experiences.
The SKI RACK is also excellent for uncomplicated and environmentally friendly rides to the nearest cross-country ski trail.
To ensure skis are attached to the bike quickly and securely, we developed the SKI RACK.
The third generation of the SKI RACK is now even more universal and comfortable.
Thanks to its size adjustment, it can also be easily attached to e-bikes with very large top tubes. The attachment of the rack and the skis is now even faster and can be done uncomplicatedly in seconds. And the poles can now also be attached better and more easily.
- Ultra-fast, rock-solid ski fixation
- Light and easy to use: only 314 g
- Prevents scratches on the bike frame
- Usable with most bikes, skis, or even splitboards
- Biodegradable plastic, without plastic packaging
- Made in Germany
How long does it take to attach the SKI RACK to the bike?
Both mounts can be attached and removed in a few seconds.
How long does it take to attach the skis to the SKI RACK?
The skis are simply placed into the SKI RACK mounts and secured with the straps by closing three buckles. This is just as quick as putting them in the trunk.
What do I do with the ski poles?
The ski poles can simply be secured first with the handles forward, with the extra strap on the front mount, and together with the skis on the rear mount.
What do I do with the ski boots?
One option (and our preferred one) is to wear the ski boots while cycling. This way, they don't have to be carried, and your feet stay warm and dry. Modern ski touring boots also offer enough freedom of movement for this.
The second option is to strap them to the bindings. Since they protrude behind the saddle, they don't interfere with cycling. To prevent moisture and dirt from getting into the liner, bags should be placed over the boots. The disadvantage is the deteriorating riding dynamics due to the additional weight on the skis.
The third option, of course, is to transport the ski boots on or in a backpack, but this puts significant pressure on the shoulders and sit bones during long rides.
Which bicycles is the SKI RACK suitable for?
Basically for all bicycles that have a top tube with a width between 33 mm (e.g. classic steel frame) and 100 mm (e.g. carbon frame with a large headset and e-bikes). If the SKI RACK is attached to a very narrow frame, the included foam spacer ring can be used.
Depending on the frame shape and ski length, the position of the front mount can be optimized by sliding it forward or backward.
The rear mount can be attached to all standard saddles (both 7mm round and 7x9mm oval), as long as there is still 15mm of space behind the clamping head of the seat post (if not: gently push the saddle back).
The distance between the bottom edge of the saddle frame and the top edge of the tire must be at least 16cm.
Which skis is the SKI RACK suitable for?
All types of skis can be attached to the SKI RACK: from narrow cross-country skis to extremely fat freeriders or splitboards. We have even transported roller skis (and garden tools) with it. Depending on the length and curvature of the ski, the position of the front mount must be optimized by sliding it forward or backward.
